Pizza Dough (in bread machine)
John is notorious for whipping up some great culinary creations, but never writing
down what he did. Well, John has been trying to perfect his pizza dough recipe
(using our bread machine) but have not been successful.....until one day....John
succeeded. The key is - when you start the dough program keep the bread machine
door open and watch. You want the dough to pull off the sides without sticking, so
add a little of flour (or water)as you go. Time and practice with help you perfect
a good pizza dough.
7/8 cup of water, slightly warm (microwave cold tap water for about 30 seconds)
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoon gluten - you can find this in the organic food section of your supermarket
(where they keep the other organic baking stuff).
Follow the dough program in your dough maker, remember to watch the dough mix for the first 5 minutes. If it is sticking to the sides, add a more flour (or water) as needed.
Cook on a pizza stone in the oven preheated to 500 degrees. Bake on pizza stone until done - anywhere between 6 to 11 minutes.
